OXS is expanding its lineup with a fresh white version of the Storm G2 Wireless Gaming Headset. With a price of $79.99 in the U.S. and £79.99 in the U.K., the headset aims to deliver solid gaming audio, multiple connection options, and a comfortable fit—all without breaking the bank.
At the heart of the Storm G2 is a 50mm full-range dynamic driver, which OXS says is tuned to provide clear highs, rich mids, and deep bass. It also supports 7.1 virtual surround sound, a software-driven feature that creates an immersive soundstage for gaming.
While it’s not quite the same as having multiple physical speakers, virtual surround sound can still make it easier to pick up directional audio cues, like enemy footsteps or distant gunfire.
For communication, the Storm G2 includes a detachable omni-directional microphone designed to capture voice clearly without too much background noise. Since the mic can be removed, users who don’t need voice chat—like those using the headset just for music or single-player games—can simply unplug it.
One of the Storm G2’s key features is its flexibility when it comes to connectivity. The headset supports three different connection modes:
The included wireless dongle supports both Type-A and Type-C connections, which means it can plug into a wide variety of gaming consoles, PCs, and even some smartphones without the need for an extra adapter.
Beyond gaming, OXS has included different audio presets—Game, Music, and Surround—so users can tweak the sound profile based on what they’re listening to. This could be useful for anyone who wants to switch between explosive game soundtracks and a more balanced setting for music.
Long gaming sessions can be tough on the ears, so OXS has designed the Storm G2 with comfort in mind. The headband is adjustable by up to two inches (five centimeters), and the ear cups swivel 30 degrees for a more personalized fit. The ear cushions are made of memory foam and covered in what OXS calls "skin-friendly protein leather," a synthetic material designed to feel soft and breathable.
The headset is also lightweight, which should help prevent discomfort when worn for extended periods. Since weight can make a big difference in overall comfort, a lighter headset is generally better for marathon gaming sessions.
The Storm G2 comes with a range of accessories to support its multiple connection options:
