Tidal-logo.jpgTIDAL was a hot commodity at the recent CES, with a number of high-end audio manufacturers streaming the lossless, CD-quality service for their demos. TIDAL is a subscription-based service ($19.99 per month) that offers access to more than 25 million tracks in the lossless FLAC/ALAC formats, as well as more than 75,000 music videos and editorial to provide more insight about the music. TIDAL offers dedicated iOS and Android apps, as well as a Web player, and the service is integrated in many network music players.

The company recently announced the most played albums and tracks since the service launched in October 2014, and we thought our readers might find it interesting to see what the TIDAL audience is listening to, so check out the lists below.

From TIDAL
TIDAL, the first high-fidelity lossless music streaming service with HD music videos and curated editorial, today revealed the most played albums and tracks since the subscription service launched in October 2014--with Pink Floyd and Hozier claiming top spots.

Sveinung Rindal, head of editorial at TIDAL, said: "Our listeners choose TIDAL for its quality in music selection, premium lossless sound, and expert editorial. It's exciting to see the wide range of music being enjoyed in TIDAL, from modern jazz (GoGo Penguin) and rock (Pink Floyd), to hip-hop (Run The Jewels), electronica (Kiasmos) and indie (TV On The Radio). Pink Floyd released their first album in 20 years, and it was a gift for our users to be able to listen to it in HiFi lossless streaming from the very first day it was available. None of us were surprised when it landed the top spot on the list."

Rindal continued: "We are delighted by the response to our editorial profiles. It shows that our heartfelt love for music connects well with our quality-savvy users. Irish newcomer Hozier topped our most played tracks list, but was not the only star debuting from Ireland on the list. TIDAL introduced the singer/songwriter SOAK (aka Bridie Monds-Watson) in early November and she climbed quickly to number 3 in both US and UK markets, an incredible feat with her short history. She's just one of many exciting artists we look forward to following and introducing in 2015."

As an advertisement-free, lossless, CD-quality music and music video streaming service with extensive curated editorial expertise, TIDAL is available now in the UK, US and Canada for a monthly subscription of $19.99/£19.99.
