Pro-Ject Audio Systems is introducing another music-inspired turntable, and this time, it’s a tribute to one of the most legendary rock bands of all time—AC/DC. The AC/DC Turntable, part of Pro-Ject’s Artist Series, combines the company’s audio know-how with bold design choices that reflect the band's high-voltage style. Whether you’re a hardcore AC/DC fan or just looking for a turntable that stands out, this one is hard to miss.
Pro-Ject didn’t just slap a band logo on a turntable and call it a day. The gloss black plinth is shaped like AC/DC’s signature lightning bolt, making it a showpiece as much as a record player. Adding to the dramatic effect is a red LED-lit acrylic sub-platter, giving the turntable a glowing, almost stage-like presence when in use.
Pro-Ject has also included a 10mm thick glass platter, designed to reduce unwanted vibrations while keeping playback smooth and steady. The turntable sits on three height-adjustable spiked feet, which help stabilize it and prevent external vibrations from interfering with the music.
One of the more unique design choices is the 8.6-inch acrylic tonearm, shaped to mimic the AC/DC lightning bolt. It’s more than just a visual touch, though. The tonearm is built with spring-based anti-skating, which helps keep the stylus tracking properly on the record, even through bass-heavy or dynamic passages.
The turntable comes pre-installed with an Ortofon 2M Red moving magnet cartridge, a solid mid-range option known for delivering clean, detailed sound. Since it’s already set up out of the box, users won’t need to worry about making complex adjustments before playing their first record.
The AC/DC Turntable supports both 33⅓ and 45 RPM speeds, switchable with an electronic speed changer. This makes it easy to swap between albums and singles without having to manually adjust the belt. The motor is AC-powered and belt-driven, keeping things quiet and stable for consistent playback.
Unlike some modern turntables, there’s no Bluetooth connectivity—this one’s purely an analog experience. Instead, it comes with gold-plated RCA connectors and a custom phono cable, ensuring a solid connection to your sound system.
