Samsung has unveiled its latest addition to the wireless earbud market – the Galaxy Buds FE. These earbuds, released alongside the Galaxy S23 FE and the Galaxy Tab S9 series, are positioned as a budget-friendly alternative within the Galaxy lineup.

One of the most striking aspects of the Galaxy Buds FE is its pricing. Priced at just $100, they represent a new low in the cost of Galaxy Buds. This marks a significant drop compared to other models in the Galaxy Buds series, such as the Galaxy Buds Live, Buds 2, and the flagship Buds 2 Pro, which are priced at $150 and $230, respectively. The Galaxy Buds FE brings desirable features like Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and transparency modes to a more budget-conscious audience.

Samsung promises a powerful audio experience, with "deep and rich sound that allows you to enjoy music the way the artist intended." The earbuds boast an ergonomic design, utilizing three sizes of silicone eartips and two sizes of wingtips for a customizable and comfortable fit – a first for the Galaxy Buds lineup.

The Galaxy Buds FE offer a respectable water protection rating of IPX2, although falling short of the IPX7 protection provided by the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. Samsung users will appreciate the seamless integration with the Samsung ecosystem, enabling features like easy pairing, auto-switching between devices, and SmartThings Find for locating misplaced earbuds.

To achieve the lower price point, Samsung has omitted wireless charging for the Galaxy Buds FE, meaning users won't be able to charge the earbuds' case with a Qi charging mat or via reverse wireless charging from a Samsung phone.

The Galaxy Buds FE come equipped with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Ambient Sound features. ANC allows users to block out unwanted background noise, while Ambient Sound lets you stay aware of your surroundings when needed. This combination gives users the freedom to tailor their audio experience to their environment.

Samsung boasts that the Galaxy Buds FE offer the longest battery life in the Buds series. Users can enjoy up to 8.5 hours of playback on a single charge, with the total extending to an impressive 30 hours when the charging case is included. Even with ANC activated, the earbuds still provide 6 hours of playback, totaling 21 hours with the case.

In terms of design and comfort, the Galaxy Buds FE draw inspiration from the iconic and ergonomic design of the Galaxy Buds series. They are designed for extended wear, with a customizable fit achieved through the inclusion of three different sizes of ear tips and two different sizes of wingtips.

The Galaxy Buds FE will be available in white and graphite colors starting from October 10, 2023. You can purchase them directly from Samsung's official website and major retailers.
