Sennheiser went with a more straight-forward, stripped-down design - but these sweat-proof earbuds still feel incredibly light. The CX Plus earbuds include the 7mm "TrueResponse" drivers - a simplified version of the dynamic drivers found in their top-of-the-line IE900 in-ear headphones . Music plays wirelessly via the newer Bluetooth 5.2 version, and the pairing process with my phone was seamless. There is no connecting wire between the two earbuds, and you can control music or calls by touch. Good noise cancellation for earbuds I've only had time to briefly audition these earbuds, but I found they cancel noise well for earbuds. In general, active noise cancellation doesn't work as well with in-ear headphones as it does with over-ear headphones. But these earbuds offer a lot of noise isolation just from the fit alone. I didn't put them through an extreme noise test, but the HVAC system above my desk can get loud. And with the noise-canceling circuitry on, I didn't notice it at all. It provided a nice blanket of quiet, so they drivers could do their thing while I listened to music or podcasts. Responsive touch controls and a quick way to hear others The earbuds turned on automatically when I put them in. Once paired to my phone, you control music and calls by touching or tapping either earbud. Controls are snappy, and the touch pad is not as sensitive or finicky as it is in some other small earbuds.
