Stereo input speakers for music and home theater OSD's R62DT in-ceiling speaker is a testament to just how versatile stereo-input speakers can be. One speaker can be used for stereo music in a single room. Or you can buy a pair, switch them to "surround mode," and use them as surround speakers in your home theater system. Replete with finely crafted drivers, a custom crossover, and a tweeter level switch, the R62DT is an in-ceiling force to be reckoned with. Drivers crafted for premium performance OSD used premium materials for the R62DT's drivers. The speaker has a 6-1/2" graphite woofer with a butyl rubber surround that dishes out solid mid-bass and bass. There are also twin pivoting 3/4" silk dome tweeters mounted over the middle woofer for smooth, detailed highs. Contour switches and custom crossovers The speaker comes with a unique contour switch that changes the output level of the tweeters. There are -3dB, 0dB, and +3dB settings to help you match the speaker to the area's acoustics. If your room is full of reflective surfaces, you'll want to set the switch to "-3dB" to keep the tweeters from being too overbearing. If your room has lots of carpet, cloth, or other sound absorbing materials, you'll want to go with the inverse "+3dB" option to give the tweeters some extra oomph and help them come through clearly in your room. OSD also included custom crossovers on the speakers, made with audiophile-grade components like Mylar? bypass capacitors. The crossovers were specifically designed to enhance the detail and soundstage width of the tweeters. They have their own protective shields to keep dust and debris out and air vents to keep things running cool. While this is a stereo-input speaker, there's also a "surround mode" switch that lets the speaker work as a mono-input speaker for home theater applications. You can use a pair of the R62DTs as your surround left and right speakers to enjoy the extra depth and immersion they provide. Modern, easy mounting The s
