Pro-Ject has introduced the Colourful Audio System 2, the follow-up to its original all-in-one hi-fi system, offering a mix of vibrant aesthetics and upgraded components. Designed for those who want high-quality stereo sound without the hassle of piecing together separate components, this system includes everything needed to start playing vinyl straight out of the box.

And if you’re just getting into the world of hi-fi? No problem. The Colourful Audio System 2 is built to grow with you, allowing for future upgrades as your budget and confidence increase.

This isn’t just another turntable-in-a-box solution—it’s a full-fledged hi-fi separates system, meaning you’re getting individual high-quality components designed to work together. The Colourful Audio System 2 includes:

• Debut EVO 2 Turntable – A belt-driven turntable with a carbon fibre tonearm and a damped aluminium platter for stable, high-fidelity playback. It also comes pre-fitted with a Pick it MM EVO cartridge.
• MaiA S3 Amplifier – A compact but powerful 40W-per-channel amp with eight input options, including Bluetooth and a built-in phono stage for your turntable.
• Speaker Box 5 S2 Speakers – A pair of bookshelf speakers featuring a bass-reflex design for detailed and spacious sound.
• Accessories – The system also comes with Damp-it rubber feet (to help isolate the speakers from vibrations), as well as pre-terminated Connect it LS E speaker cables for easy setup.

This all means you’re getting a true stereo experience, with separate speakers that can be positioned for proper sound imaging—something you just don’t get from single-box wireless speakers.

Pro-Ject has also introduced a lower-cost alternative, the Colourful Audio System E. While both systems share the same goal—offering an easy entry into hi-fi—there are some key differences.

The Colourful Audio System E swaps out the higher-end turntable, amp, and speakers for more budget-friendly versions:

• The Debut EVO 2 turntable in the standard system is replaced by the Debut E, which has an aluminium tonearm and a solid MDF plinth.
• The MaiA S3 amplifier is replaced with the Stereo Box E amplifier, which has slightly fewer inputs but still delivers 40W per channel.
• The Speaker Box 5 S2 speakers are replaced by the Speaker Box 5 E Carbon, featuring a carbon fibre woofer and silk dome tweeter.

The good news? Both systems share the same colour options—six satin finishes (Black, Fir Green, Golden Yellow, Steel Blue, White, and Wine Red) plus a Walnut real wood veneer. The only exception is the amplifier, which is only available in black.

If you’re looking for an easy, stylish way to get into vinyl or upgrade from an entry-level setup, the Colourful Audio System 2 offers a compelling package. The fact that it’s upgradeable also makes it a great option for those who want to improve their system over time rather than replacing everything at once.

The Colourful Audio System 2 is priced at £1,799 ($2,270 USD approx.), while the Colourful Audio System E comes in at £1,099 ($1,386 USD approx.). Both systems will be available starting March 2025.
