Philips has rolled out three new soundbars for 2025—the B6100, B8200, and B8500—offering a mix of sizes, features, and audio setups designed to work with different TV configurations. Whether you’re looking for a compact soundbar for a smaller room or a full-size system for a home theater setup, these models aim to provide options for different needs.
So, what makes these soundbars stand out? Let’s break it down.
Each of the three soundbars is built with a specific use case in mind, which means they aren’t just one-size-fits-all options. Philips has designed them to work particularly well with its 2025 TV lineup, but they could also be used with other TVs as long as they fit your space.
B8500 – This is the largest and most powerful option in the lineup. It’s a 5.1-channel system that includes a separate 8-inch subwoofer and a total power output of 300W RMS. Designed to pair with Philips’ MLED950 and OLED810 TVs, it has an elliptical design that helps reduce its height to avoid blocking the screen.
This is the only model with 4K/120Hz passthrough via HDMI 2.1 eARC, which could be useful for gamers who want to keep their setup streamlined. The subwoofer can be placed either vertically or horizontally, giving some flexibility in placement.
B8200 – If you have a TV with low clearance, the B8200’s slim design (just 37mm in height) might be a good fit. Despite its low profile, it still delivers a 2.1-channel audio experience with a 120W subwoofer. It has Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Virtual X support, along with HDMI 2.1 eARC for connectivity. This soundbar is meant to be discreet while still delivering strong sound, and it will be available in August.
B6100 – This is the smallest of the three, with a width of 600mm, making it a good fit for 48- to 55-inch TVs. It’s a 2.1-channel soundbar with a 120W subwoofer and 200W RMS total power. While it doesn’t have the same size or power as the B8500, it still comes with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Virtual X, and HDMI 2.1 eARC support. Unlike the other two models, the B6100 has a gunmetal finish instead of a satin chrome sheen.
Across the board, Philips has kept some key features consistent across all three soundbars:
A standout feature for the B8500 is its 4K/120Hz passthrough, a big plus for gamers who want a lag-free video experience while using a soundbar.
Philips is making an effort to include sustainability in its 2025 soundbars. All three models feature post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics, plastic-free packaging, and single-color UV printing.
Design-wise, the B6100 and B8500 share an elliptical shape, while the B8200 focuses on a super-thin profile. The B8500 and B8200 come in a satin chrome sheen, while the B6100 has a gunmetal finish meant to complement Philips' mid-range TVs.
The release dates for these soundbars are staggered throughout the year:
Philips has yet to announce pricing details, so it’s unclear where these soundbars will sit in the market in terms of cost.
