"JVC Kenwood adds valuable essential patents to the program, further underlining the one-stop-shop concept of One-Blue," Roel Kramer, One-Blue CEO, said in a statement on the move.
"JVC Kenwood has helped to invent and develop the Blu-ray Disc format in the past and currently sells many Blu-ray prerecorded discs and unique Blu-ray Disc recorders for consumer and professional use," said Tetsuro Fuse, JVC intellectual property operation strategic research and development for Blu-ray Disc products.
One-Blue is a patent pool designed to reduce costs and fosters fair use of the patent system.
