Cambridge Audio has released a significant software update for its CXN100 network player. The update introduces VU meters and a clock display, features previously announced for the Evo series streaming amplifiers. This update enhances the user experience by providing more display options, catering to both nostalgic audio enthusiasts and modern listeners alike.
The OTA (over-the-air) update is available for the CXN100 network player, as well as the Evo 75, Evo 150, and Evo 150 DeLorean Edition models. This move comes in response to popular demand, extending the functionality initially reserved for the Evo series to the CXN100.
The new display options, accessible via the (i) button on the front panel of the device, offer users the flexibility to toggle between viewing the VU meters, a digital clock, or the album artwork currently playing. VU meters, which display live signal levels, are a nod to the classic analogue audio era, characterized by the iconic ticking needles.
